Hi, everyone, So glad to hear Aunt Jeanette is better! Keep us informed, please! Meredith went to a Horse show last weekend. 1st in her equitation division (big class) and 2nd (by 2 points for 1st) in the big Hunter Classic on Sunday.(Huge Class) She won enough money to pay for her horse show! She is now riding one of Karen Cobb's big Hanoverions. A beautiful gray dappled horse. She looks beautiful riding it. The judges gave her a score of 87! 90 is almost unheard of at these shows! She is the only one at the barn that can ride him without any trouble.....he loves her! She had so much fun. I will try to get a picture up on the page for ya'll to see. She is growing up so much, I cannot believe it! Ana is a little over 6 months and is so precious. I went back to work 2 weeks ago and they have been a huge help/ They came over this week and cleaned my house....looked like pros did it! Yesterday, had me over for lunch. Ana made mexican meat pies....the best things I had ever had! Daniel is still suffering from the reaction to the I V vancomyacin that he had for his Staph infection. The E & T Dr. told him that it developed into meniers disease. (ringing in the ears, nerve damage to both ears, vertigo problems and some hearing loss) He had a battery of tests done at an audiology lab here in Laf. and MRI and other tests done. There is no cure, you just have episodes on and off. they treat the symptoms. He has been having an episode every night for about a month. Kimberly is doing great at her new job. She is managing "The promise land" apartments at the Msng. Sigur Center in Laf. for single women with children, try help them get on their feet. Most have been battered and/or homeless. She is one tough cookie (but extremely compassionate)! It takes a very unique person to handle this job. She has to go to court with the women and children (arrests, child support, abuse, ect.) Robert and I are both working (at the same time) Oil field has been SLOW! My hysterectomy really set us back, but I know everything will be fine, ust have to catch up! Aunt Gloria, how are you feeling? I hope you are enjoying everything ya'll have been doing. I think of you so often. Nancy and Butch, are you coming on the 4th? Call me. We are expecting ya'll. It is Ana's birthday and Kim's boyfriend from New York will be in! Big Day at the Wrights! Well, better try to sleep, I am trying to work on Saturday's for a while, to catch up, so I need rest. Love to everyone. Carolyn

Happy Birthday Paul. God send you His blessings. Say hello to your family. If you would like to talk to me about the decisions you will be having to make about your mother & father's future. Please free to call me. I am trying to meet with Tom & your Dad. Things take time to arrange. When they say discharge you have to have a plan. This is what I did for 25 years when I worked at the Welfare. My field was Medicaid & Nursing. Woul like to hear from you. Dad asked me to offer my help. LOVE Aunt Pat

Hello everyone! Yes we are still busy as ever. Mom told me today she talked to Aunt Jeanette over the telephone. Way to go Aunt Jeanette. It was good to hear you were doing better. I believe a big THANK YOU TO JESUS is in order here. Uncle Melvin you hang in there too now. The Lord has kept you well. Monique will be coming home next Tuesday. I am soooo glad. I am fixing to bring Daniel to football practice and pick up a sack of cucumbers from Mr. Hebert. I will be making this batchof bread and butter pickles myself. My best friend Debbie came over to teach me how and they came out great. I will try now on my own. Point of information: backberry juice does not turn into jelly after the juice has been frozen. It has to be fresh. He He! I know you all needed to know that. I now have cases of blackberry syrup. It good but not jelly. Oh well! Well have to run for now. Love to all and give Jesus all the praise. Martha Louise

Hello everyone. Well, momma's not doing well as I'm sure everyone knows. Things do not look good at all. Her heart doctor said yesterday that he has done everything he could. She made it through the night however, and is holding on for Francis to come and visit this morning. Please keep praying for her, God bless. Love, Paul

HAPPY SUMMER, EVERYBODY! I was really ready for the school year to end, but why? I've already been back to my classroom, and I brought home lots of work for me to do over the summer! Who says teachers work only 9 months of the year? Eugene and I recently chaired Cajun Fun Fest, a major festival in New Iberia at Catholic High School, where 3 of our kids go to school. It was lots of fun--good music, good food, fine cars at the Car, Truck, and Motorcycle Show. It was our second--and final--year of being chairpersons! We are on "relax" mode now. Eugene IV, Marie-Louise, and Annemarie (all at CHS) all made the Honor Roll--straight A's for the girls, and one B for Eugene in a 9th grade math class where he was just in 8th grade. Ian did well at St. Edward, although he struggled in Reading. Eugene IV is on vacation in South Dakota with a friend. When he returns, it's daily football practice for him--and me, since I have to bring him to New Iberia every day from 6:30 AM to 8:30 AM!!YUK!Ian is playing baseball this summer. The girls won't have any sports until soccer starts again in the fall. God's blessings to all of you--you are in our thoughts and prayers always.

Hello everyone, It is great to hear everyone is doing good. Uncle OP and Aunt Shirley I sure hope you are having a great trip. Butch and I went in 1991 and it was the best trip. One of our faviorte days was the trip out of Skagway floating down a river in a bald eagle preserve. Are you going on with the trip when you get off the ship? We had a very hot weekend playing baseball in Baton Rouge. We even got in one of the LSU vs ULL games over the weekend at Alex Box. Lots of fun but soooo hot 93. I wish we were there sun for the winning games for LSU. But we saw the game ULL won 5 to 0. It was great seeing Jacobs new home in BR.Way too nice for college. Justin will experience the dorm his first year at LSU. But wait till he sees Jacob's house , we are in trouble....thanks Dean and Becky,,,,,Just kidding...It was great seeing Becky, Dean, the girls, Jacob and Martha!!! We hope to have time this weekend to see everyone this weekend.. with baseball in Abbyville, we will be at Martha's.Love too all. Nancy

Glad to hear that Uncle OP and Aunt Shirley are having a great time. I hope the water doesn't get too rough. Send the cool weather down this way. Yes, Uncle OP FORGIVENESS is so important, can't get to heaven without it. Daniel is surviving LSU football camp. Jacob said he is doing great, he is in pretty good shape. Some of the other fellows are huffing and puffing etc.. I know he is anxious to go to the LSU Kicking Camp. Only a few will be attending and he will get plenty of attention. Monique is still in Oaxaca, Mexico until the 25th of June. She is doing God's will and haveing fun. they make a good team, He supply the tools and she supplies the labor. I will be sending her video camera with a friend on the 11th. I will love to see what she sees. I enjoyed my visit with Nancy and Butch and Kyle this week. We visited at Jacob's house while they were in Baton Rouge for a ball game. The Thayer's are coming over to our house this weekend and we will be able to see Kyle play ball in Abbeville. :) Our houses are noisy again with school out. Kids everywhere. That's good! I really miss my girl. Grandma had to be very strong to have had so many children away from her and grandkids and great grandkids. I know we will meet again. I will not mess up and end up in hell to spend the rest of eternity with a billions of stupid people. Heaven is the way to go and Jesus will show me the way. I'm missing everyone. Have to stop! Keep Jesus alive. Love to all, Martha Louise

Hi yall. I just put up 3.5 cases of blackberry jelly. I hope it turns. it sure does smell and taste good. If not i will have 3.5 cases of blackberry syrup and we will be eating lots of waffles an pancakes. daniel picked up his report card today and made honor roll again. We went to pick up his gear from his new school and had the tour. I believe he will enjoy his time there. It is also a very small public school. He will have lots of fooball games on Friday nights. He will be playing against EugeneIV(Catholic High) and some of his 4-H friends from other cities. We will now have Daniel, Eugene, Jared and Jordan, and Jacob all playing football. And what is crazy about this is that they all play at diferent times on different days. I guess I will be an expert at the end of this season. Uncle Op and Aunt Shirley have you seen any whales yet. You all look like you are enjoying yourselves. Hello Kent and Kelly! :) How are you doing Lynn? It is still hot over here and we are having some rain. Have o get some sleep. Lord Jesus, Father God I ask that you heal our family, free them from disease, bind all infirmaties and make us whole. We give You all the glory and the praise for what you have given us and for being constant in our lives. Live in us, through us and Your will be done. In Jesus name, Amen and Amen. Hi again! Daniel has the most beautiful smile. He is sooo handsome braces or no braces but now that the braces are gone... Lookin good Dan. Monique, we took a before and after picture and we will send it to you. I have to scan it tomorrow. I will be at Nanny's tomorrow and Jewel has a program at school. We will be there for 7. I will video it for you. Noonie went back to her friends house and I think she enjoyed herself. Of course we had GIANT crawfish and everyone came over to eat. I am really tired but had to write. Daniel had one final left tomorrow and it is Math. His grades of course are looking pretty good. Monique got her grades and she made a 3.25. Way to go Mo! Uncle OP and Aunt Shirley I hope you are enjoying yourselves. Take some pictures of the whales, I am sure you will see some. I am looking forward to seeing Kyle play baseball this weekend. he will not be far from jacob's house in Baton Rouge. Daniel will be attending LSU football camp this Sunday for 3 days. His coach has put him as a Kicker and Receiver. He is so excited about going to camp. Two weeks from now he will be going back to LSU for the Kicking Camp that is put on by the Pros. Only 30 to 40 kids go to that one. I have to run now. I really need some beauty sleep. Love, peace, and health to all of you out there. Jesus loves you. Martha Louise XXOO :)

Hello everyone! Well, I have had a real busy day, week, night......I finally got a hold of Monique on the telephone. She will be returning on the 25th. the family she is staying with say that she is a blessing but ialready knew that. I went to pick up my aunt Noonie, my dads sister from Baton Rouge not relocated in Gulf Shores. Mom and I drove this morning and we haven't stopped since. It is now almost 2 in the morning and I am checking email. We had these giant crawfish tonight, boy they were great. Really almos like lobsters. Mo they were the biggest we had and of course your dad was the master chef. The onions!!!!yum!!!Well, we had some let over and we will snack tomorrow. while Noonie is in we will make some homemade blackberry jelly. My other Aunt goldie will join us also. They really know how to do it best. the kids over here are almost finished with school. they are taking finals and boy i can not wait for it to be over. Daniel went for his physical for football. He will be going to LSU this Sunday and I know he is excited. his driving skill are very good and he did not wreck your car Mo. Ha! Ha! Becky's air conditioners gave out today, talk about hot. I think she got one of them fixed because she didn't return to sleep tonight. Jenna is sleeping with me and Jewel is at MeMe's. They love to sleep over. Daniel will be kicking for his football team. He can kick from the 35 yard line and make it through. Way to go Daniel. Well, Danny is playing with his pigs again. We just about have all of them at home again. TOO MANY PIGS!!! If any of you travel to Houston, the spped limit has changed to 55mph. for real. It took me from 7:30 in the morning to 3:30 in the afernoon to get back home to St. Martinville. I only stopped once for breakfast and once for lunch. Not long either. Traffic is bad. I couldn't go in the airport with Monique to see her off. I had to leave after they took her bags at check in. security reasons. i hope and pray that all is well. Nancy and Butch don't forget to call Jacob or myself when you all are in Baton Rouge for the ball game. I have justin's graduation gift. Daniel gets to take off his braces Wednesday. He has such a beautiful smile. Are any of you cousins awake in California? I know you are busy with work and kids but how are things going? this is too long. I am sooo tired and need some sleep. I love you all and pray for peace, health, and the love of Jesus to fill your hearts. In Jesus name.....Amen. Love, Martha Lousie Great picutres......:)

Hi, everyone, I guess I need to keep writing also! Daniel and Ana had their 2nd Dr's visit yesterday. She is 20 weeks along and the baby is moving (I felt it kick for the first time this week----needless to say, I cried!) I know that I will be just pitiful when that beautiful baby is born. I already know it has to be beautiful!!!! Ana is really coming along well with her English and she looks just so cute! I love her so much, she is my 4th child! Kimberly's boyfriend from New York ( really from Malaysia, but is grad school at NYU) is coming in on Thurs. until Mon. We are all excited and she has every meal planned and ready to go. The poor boy doesn't know how well we eat in So. La. Kim says that he lives on those microwave noodle soups! And of course we will boil crawfish for him on Sat. Meredith is graduating from 8th grade next week! I cannot believe how fast time goes by. My baby going to high school, it is really hard to even believe it! She is still riding and doing very well with her first love!!! Robert has been busy working, while I have been laid up. I am still in pain, but I know ONE DAY IT WILL GO AWAY AND I WILL FEEL GOOD.......RIGHT???????? This operation has really taken it's toll on me. I am not nearly doing as well as I expected to do and that is really a hard one. Well, love to everyone. Martha, I am glad that you and Monique came over. She will be fine and the time will fly! Nancy, thanks for calling yesterday, It is amazing what a phone call can do, much less a visit!!! Aunt Gloria, I love seeing your pics, you are beautiful! I love you so much and hope all is going well. Aunt Shirley, you are right about the (gas)! I could go on and on, but will stop for now. Love to all, Carolyn

Hello everyone, Yes we are guilty as charged for not writing as much as we all should. I don't know where to start. Butch has been doing great in his new job. Durning Easter Kyle, my mom Jackie and I went to N.Y. to visit my sister and her family. She moved to a new home in the Bronx very nice. We did go down to see ground zero. It was very sad and hard to think how close she lived to the towers, 1 1/2 blocks. we went to her old place to show Kyle,,he couldn't believe it. I took him all over N.Y. city he had a really great time, It was his first flying, and going to N.Y. We even got in to the opening game of the N.Y. Yankees. It was the 100th opening game. We had a great time, waited 2 hr to find tickets, but we did and they were great seats, we nearly froze. Kyle and I really had the N.Y. total experience. Butch had to work and Justin had spring break his senior year and didn't have time to go with me this time. Yes speaking of Our senior, he will be grad. on Thrus. We have been is a world wind. With Prom, ( I was a prom mom, and did alot of work) the picnic, grad night trip to Disney in Fla., awards, and the sen slide show was tonight. The principle put together a show for the seniors and parents with over 1000 slides of there sen year it was a real tear jerker, but wonderful. He will be going to LSU in Baton Rouge this fall majoring in Biology. I'm sure he will be seeing Jacob. Kyle had his Jr High awards and Grad too and will be starting highschool in the fall. For now we have been Playing baseball for a select traveling team again and he just started this week for a metro baseball team for Slidell High School and he plans on going on the LSU baseball he hopes in 4 years!!!!!thank you Uncle OP for posting Justin's Picture. Hope everyone is doing well and our prayers go out to our entire family for good health. Carolyn I know you will be back on your feet soon if you listen to your Dr. and don't try to do too much!!! I heard from Cyndy today, she and Charles have been working on the new house they bought, She said Charles had lost 20lbs working hard on the house, then had chest pains yesterday, they found a blockage and put a stint in, he is in MICU but hopefully he will go home Wed. Well Butch is telling me that I will win for the longest letter. Love to everyone.

Hello everyone. Sorry i haven't written much lately buti've been real busy. Here goes the scoop. Daniel and i went to Ruston with the pig trailer to pick up Monique and all her stuff. She is moving back home and will be finishing school at ULL. She has only 3 quaters left. She couldn't go to summer school because they weren't offerring any courses she needed. She emailed us and said she made it to Mexico and the flight was great and she didn't get lost in Mexico City Airport. She was able to witness to two english speaking Mexican's about her love for the Father. She said was God was already using her and she was so excited. She said it is very peaceful over there and is praying for for God to send some of the peace our way. She will be staying for about a month and half being sure to reutn before 4th of July. Daniel is finishing up with school and getting in shape for football. he has got the kicking leg and is practicing and working out at Becky and Dean's with Jared and Jordan. Daniel is going to football camp at LSU and to Kicking Camp at LSU(professional put this one on). Well, I went to visit Carolyn today and she spoke Grandma's words to me today. I sure do miss her. It was great to see her and Merideth. Thanks Carolyn! Love you!!:) Monique has access to this site while in Mexico. You all can leave her a message. Daniel is getting real good on his guitar. For real. Sings and sounds good too. I had some test run at the hospital and I am glad to let everyone know that I am healthy. All is good. Thank you Jesus! The cool weather is great down here. Well, I am very tired now and will write again later. Daniel needs to eat and I need to cook so check you all later. Living and loving the Lord. Martha Louise

Hello family. How about California anyone reading this page? It doesn't look like the reunion on Grandma's 100th birthday is going to happen, so I hope we can meet on this page as she wanted. She told me so many times "I know when I die my home and I will not be there, But my computer page will. so you con stay in touch as a family should." I know we are all busy with life but let family fit in for just a minute. I am involved with my new job for the City as a Grant Adminastrator. I don't have to punch the clock so I am still free to do my thing. Monique left to do Mission work in southern Mexico for ony a week as she is enrolled in Summer school at ULL. Becky and her family are tied into big business, school, and football. Jacob is on the LSU team , he is trying so hard and doing very well. Eugene is back at work after his many surgeries. His famil y is to involved to put it down I will tell them to update themselves. Wait to hear from you'll. Aunt Pat

Great advice, Carolyn!!!! Yes, it hurt. Lordy, the gas..........oops! But it will feel better in time. Walk as much as you can and time will take care of the pain. Takes a while to heal. Well, you got the chat room going again. I attended a Women's Retreat in Hampton, Va this weekend. It was really great and very peaceful at the end. Hope some of you get a chance to attend one. Congrats to Justin who gratuates this week. I know your Mother and Father are so proud of you because they tell us all the time. What are you going to do after graduation? I am glad that you wrote in, but this is not a chat room for advice, but a personal family chat room. Our family is quite large and spread out over the US, this is a great way for us to stay in touch. But, since you asked, I would say that you are very lucky to still have a mom, even though she spoils your child. It is only one day out of seven, so say your blessings, talk to your mom and let her know how hard it is when you come home. But most all thank her for loving you and your child so much! (And tell her that there is an English Word "NO" that she needs to learn. But be careful, she might start telling you NO more often!!!

I have a two and a half year old. My mom watches him every Monday, my mother-in-law, Tuesday through Friday. I'm a teacher, so I'll be home in just a couple of weeks. Here's my situation: My mom is a good mom, but as a grandmother has adopted the "I'm his grandmother, I can spoil him if I want to (which she has actually said before)" attitude. I'm tired of coming home to him on Monday and he has not had a nap and has gotten almost everything he wanted. He throws temper tantrum after temper tantrum until we can finally put him to bed. My mom is extremely defensive anytime I say something! HELP! What can I do/say to get my mom to respect my husband and my wishes as parents?

I just got a phone call from Rickey. This morning, they were just getting on their way on their trip up here and NC. Barbara had some chest pains and some arm pains, so Rickey took her to the Lourdes and they admitted her for tests and observations. With her history of strokes, it is a bad warning sign. So keep her in your prayers.

THANK YOU CAROLYN, for keeping this message board "ALIVE". I did not think that I could top O.P.'s last message, so I just sat and waited. Happy to hear that you are getting better, and don't think that we have not been praying for you--WE HAVE. Things here are keeping me from making many visits. Don't like to leave Aunt Jeannette by herself. She is geting around very slow, and sometimes I have to help her get up out of her chair. She is now using a walker. But we shall survive. Thank the good Lord. Love you all and hope to see you soon.

Well, this message board is far too dull for my liking!!!! Where is everyone and what are you doing. I know we are all busy, just drop a quick line,(I am as guilty as everyone else, but I would hate to see it "die a slow death"!!!!!! I am recouperating from a hysterectomy. I had it last Wed. Aunt Pat was kind enough to stay with me! Aunt Pat is always there when I need her. I love you, Aunt Pat, so much! I would like to report that I feel great, am out running, playing basketball with Meredith, riding horses, but that would all be a Great Big Lie!!!! I am not healing really quickly. I have an infection, somewhere, I don't even know where!!!!! Anyway, IT HURTS!!!!!! If anyone has the nerve to say that they had one and it was not so bad, I won't talk to them for the rest of my life! (Keep that wonderful news to yourself!!) Anyway, It will get better, so they say. I still roll out of bed and utter bad words to myself! Dad is pretty much still the same. He came to see me in the hospital, except, I don't really think that he saw me very well. His vision is still the same, by I think that the therapy is helping him get around. Anyway, Meredith is getting ready for 8th grade graduation and is still riding, we are trying to sell her current horse, she has had a huge growth spurt and needs a huge horse to match her long legs! Daniel is finally through with the IV infusions for the Staph Areus that he picked up on a boat, offshore, in December. It was really bad. I hope that they killed this little resistant bug that was attacking my son! Kimberly is doing great, as always, She is living here and working for the diocese of Lafayette. She runs the "Promise Land". A group of 10 apartments for homeless women and children. It is a tough job, but she is just about as tough as they get. Robert is doing fine. Daniel and Ana are so cute, you just want to pinch them. Ana felt the baby move this week for the first time. I haven't felt it, but i bother the hell out of her when she is hear. I run around with my hand on the baby! She is having her second doctors appt. on Tues. Everything is going well and her due date is between Sept. 28 and Oct. 10. Well, better go, befor everyone goes to sleep and is afraid to check the message board again! Love to everyone, Carolyn

I talked to Faye earlier this afternoon and she says that Dr. DeAlvere said the MRI/MRA showed NO NEW problems in the brain. He said everything they could see was from the earlier stroke. He said that his problem last weekend with his eyes and his confusion was just one of the "normal down/valleys" they expect after a stroke. He will have more ups and downs and has to prepare for them. He will be released today to go home. Keep up the prayers, he is still not out of the woods.

Hey there everybody! It's been a while since I've written but with 5 children, 4 dogs!, and a husband who has time! YES....4 dogs....English Bulldogs. Dean had the idea to start a little business for the twins by breeding bulldogs. They will have their own airconditioned kennel (they can't take the heat and humidity!). Their names are Dartanian (like the Nusketeer), Torgue and Ger (names from a cartoon named Invader Zim), and Janus (I don't know where Jordan got that name). They are so ugly they are cute! They are kinda like newborn babies....they eat, sleep and POOP! Torque will be moving to Baton Rouge to live with his Daddy Jacob when he moves into his house in May. We bought Jacob a house to live in while at LSU. Kind of an investment too. We can deduct the interest and will be renting out 2 of the rooms to 2 other football players. It's a new house about 10 minutes from LSU off of Highland Road. We went watch the first spring LSU football scrimmage Saturday. Jacob did very well. He sanps at a rate of .625 (I think that is less than 1 sec.) Dean said that's as fast as a pro! He is also still working hard to move up in the ranks of the tight ends. He even caught a touchdown pass! One play before he caught that pass I prayed for the Lord to show Jacob how powerful prayer is and I prayed that he would send His angels on the field and move everybody out of the way and let Jacob catch a touchdown pass. I had no idea that God would answer my prayer so fast! The very next play Jacob caught that pass with onoe foot in the endzone for a touchdown! Boy if he could do that in a game in Tiger Stadium in front of 92,000 people I think he would faint! I would ! Needless to say he was very excited! I told him about my prayer and he gave me a big hug. I told him, "....with God all things are possible." I'm praying for all of the sick and the well in our family. We all need uplifting even if we are not physically sick. "Ask believing and you shall receive!" I love you all!

But not until after 2pm. the Doc was late???? but appoligized". He told me & Jeannette that she had lots of POLOPS In her colon He removed and sent to lab. She also has lots of polops OR tricolitis in her bowels. Did not coment on that. He did not look very concerned about them. She was releived that this procedier was finished. She was very hungry. Hope she starts eating again. Keep up the PRAYERS. Hope we get good news soon. Love you all.

Well, I received a call from Roland last night. Faye said he couldn't wait for me to call him, so he had to call me. He got a good report from his Doctor from his visit yesterday. The Dr. said that he was "going to be ok". But I think he was really feeling better and seeing a little better each day. He wanted me to find a way to thank Fr. Manny. I told him we would. Of course Fr. Manny is just an instrument of the Lord, and Roland knows that we have to accept what comes from Him. So Roland agreed to take it one day at a time. It would be nice if some of you could give him a call from time to time. Since he can't get on the computer yet, I'm sure he would like to receive phone calls.

Roland is doing a little better each day. He is getting a better attitude and seems to be seeing slightly better. We took him to the priest that does spiritual healing in Berwick. Fr. Manny was quite an experience. We all got up on the alter and received the Holy Sprit. When I was laying on my back, I could see this light shining through my closed eyes, it was like I was seeing the "Light of the World", the Holy Spirit. Really something. Roland said later, after a long drawn out discussion about what he felt, that he actually saw Shirley "appear" to him on the alter and tell him that he was going to see a miracale. Shirley is the one who set the trip up from a suggestion by her neice Claudet. Gerald & Pat Reaux were there too. Pat almost fell back even before Fr. Manny came to her.

Hello everyone! Happy Birthday Faye. Good to hear that Uncle OP and Aunt Shirley are coming in to help. Monique came in for a visit with five of her friends and we ate boiled crawfish. I had a house full. Still doing finishing work and remodeling of our house. I have doing lots of little projects around the house. Some people say ai watch too much HGTV and DIY. Oh well, I like trying new things that don't cost much. I made a stuff headboard and an overstuffed foot stool for my bedroom. They really look good. My next adventure with crafts will be to tile the top of mom and dad's old table they had in the summer house. I will be moving my downstairs furnture upstairs to Daniel's apartment and need new stuff downstairs. I mopped my floors downstairs last night and it took me 3 bottles of wax and boy do they look good. I was cutting a great big sweat. I had to take a break half wy through. Daniel is doing fine. He is working out and geting ready for football season and his new school, Loreauville High, which is only 5 minutes. He said he could ride his 4 wheeler to school until he gets his license. He will be taking driver's ed during the Easter Break: 12 noon to 6 for five days. Monique will not be coming in for Easter. She is taking international students to Dallas for the break. they can't go home so she will be taking them to a retreat for international students. Danny has plenty of little pigs again. Anyone out there want to buy some great lean pork meat. We can have it buthchered any way you want. Well, I have to run, my lunch break is about over. I have lots of stuff to do here. Remember to keep Jesus in yor hearts all the time. I pray for wellness in our family and that all of us have a great relationship with God our Father and his son Jesus Christ. Love to all, Martha Louise

Hello everyone. Shirley & I will be driving down to Louisiana this week to help Faye with Roland. He had a couple of small strokes that has left him about 90% blind (everything is blurred). What he can see, his mind has trouble processing it so he can explain what he sees. He has some motor skills problems and weakness on the left side. He needs someone to be with him all the time at home. So we are going down for a couple of weeks to help out so Faye can continue to work.

Hi! Well, Daniel and Ana are home, at last!!!! She is so precious and loves Daniel and our family so much. It is the first time in so very long that I can see happiness and peace in Daniel's eyes. He has had a long lonesome haul with life, but he finally has found love and the love of life again. I can't wait for everyone to meet her. She loves their new apartment and she is amazed by everything! This is the first time that she leaves Mexico! I love her so much, I feel like I just adopted another daughter! Kimberly is home now too, so I have all of my children with me for the first time in years. It feels really good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! And I feel blessed to have my family. Through all of the trials, God has been very kind to me. It makes me so sad, though that my mom and grandmothers are not here to be with me, although I know that they are (in spirit) I miss them so much it hurts! Well, I hope everyone is happy and well. Keep Dad in your prayers, he is checking into a rehab center at Lourdes today, I think. That should be very good for him to have constant stimulation. Lots of love to everyone. Carolyn

Uncle Roland still needs your prayers. He suffered a stroke a few weeks ago and it took his sight down to almost nothing. It has had other effects also, like short term memory and motor skills. He may have to get a risky operation in the future, they are concerned about a blockage in the brain and an anuerisim in the back of his neck. Well, Hello, everyone~~!!!!! Fantastic News....Ana and Daniel are back in the US! They spent the night in Houston at Daniel's Dad's house last night. Kimberly drove over to bring them home today! I talked to her last night and she cannot wait to get to Lafayette!!! Daniel is having alot of trouble with an infection, Carl calls it cellulitise. It is like a huge boil and causes alot of pain. I think that they are driving straight to New Iberia for Carl to treat him. He says he only gets relief when he is in a hot tub. Kimberly says he is not exagerating, that it looks horrible and inflamed. Their apartment is all ready for them. If everyone has not heard, I am going to be a grandmother in September. Ana and Daniel are expecting! Anyway, I will let ya'll know how they are when they get here. It has just been such a long wait, it has taken about 15 months for her visa to be approved!!!! Anyway, Love to everyone and will give updates later! Hoping that everyone is well, Love, Carolyn

Uncle OP and Aunt Shirley, Jacob will be playing Virginia Tech in blacsburg, VA. Is that far from you all? How would a drive up there be? Mom spent the morning with Uncle Roland but I have not yet spoken to her. She had a doctor appointment this afternoon and we are going to a meeting tonight. The weather is very very cold, in the teens. Monique is coming home tonight for a few days between quarters. Can't wait to see her. She will be going to UL for the summer session and that will be nice then she will return up north to Ruston. We have all been keeping busy and I will let you all know more tomorrow. Karen you must be very proud of your kids. Great job! Well, have to run. Jesus is alive.....Martha Louise

We just heard from Uncle Melvin that Uncle Roland had his angiogram this morning and they didn't find any blockages. He should be going home tomorrow. His eyesight is still not good, but the doctor said it could take a long time for it to come back. They are still not sure about the anuerism behind his neck. It might be that there was really not one. I think I got that straight. Maybe Faye can correct me if I'm wrong.

Hey, I just spoke to Faye at the hospital and Uncle Roland is doing fine. He was complaining he was hungry, they didn't bring him lunch so the nurse was going to get him crackers and milk to hold him over. Faye said they ran some test today and they have not spoken to the doctor yet. He is feeling fine and is perky and optamistic. They were going to take another test today but he ate last night and they would have to do the test while he was awake and he said NO WAY. So they will wait until tomorrow. Mom went to see him and I am sure she will let evryone know the results of her visit later tonight after the ice skating. Danny, Daniel and I are in the process of finishing our upstairs after 20 years. Dan will have two years left at home but we are finally finishing it. We will have a little hotel upstairs and arcade. We did well at the pig shows and we are now giving birth to a new crop. Well, have to run I have lots to do. Love to all, Keep Jesus Alive! Martha Louise

I just spoke to Uncle Roland at the hospital. He has some of his sight back, but it is still not good enough to get on the computer. He is in a room now (337-289-2506). He had an MRI the day before yesterday and they had confirmed that he previously had a stroke. They also found an anurisim in the back of his neck. They will probably do some more tests today. Will keep you all informed. Keep the prayers going.

Well, today Jonathan was throwing coins into the fountain at the Mall. On the last coin, Jonathan lost his balance and rolled into the water! A last second attempt to grab his hand failed and in he went. He totally submerged into the 1 foot deep water. No big deal, I immediately fished him out and pulled his sweat shirt off. A bunch of nervous mothers were screaming that he had fallen in. Neither Jonathan nor I had panicked. I looked up and Lucia was no longer on the 2nd floor where she was watching us. I took him up there dripping wet. We found Lucia and went to the "Children's Place" store and got him a new shirt, pants and Shoes as this was the one day we did not have spare cloathes for him. By the time I was taking his wet cloathes off of him (dripping on the floor in the store, he was getting quite cold). He never cried or was too scared. After he got his new cloathes he was jumping around like a monkey!

Happy Mardi Gras! We are at my parents' home in N.O. recuperating after 2 days of parades--caught TONS of beads! Marie-Louise was in the St. Martinville Lionness Club's Children's Carnival on Sunday afternoon. She was very beautiful in a periwinkle gown, a little make-up (actually, a lot!), and an up-do (her hair was fixed in a curly bun). She's in 6th gr. at Catholic High but looked very grown-up at the ball. Last report card--all three kids at Catholic High (Eugene IV-8th grade, Marie-Louise-6th, and Annemarie-4th) made straight A's! Ian is in first grade at St. Edward's--he is struggling a bit in reading/language arts, but otherwise did very well. The girls are getting ready for soccer season at school--I coach the elementary girls' teams and "Big" Eugene coaches the boys' teams. Unfortunately, "Little" Eugene had to sit out of the junior high soccer season due to injured ankles. We think that after WAY too many surgeries, Eugene III might be all "fixed up" and "good to go." Many thanks to all our family and friends for their prayers. Well, Annemarie is anxious to use the computer...Peace and God's blessings to all of you--Cecilia

Hi, Family: They went in with a lapryscope to "explore" and Melanie had her appendix removed yesterday evening, even though it didn't look bad it was very, very long. Still not sure that it was the culprit that was giving her all the problems. She should be home tomorrow or Thursday. Charles' surgery is set for 2/22. We're just trying to take it one day at a time over here. I pray every night for all of you and your families - for LOVE, PEACE, AND FAITH.

Hello everyone. Pigs, pigs, pigs, that is all I seem to have time for these days and cleaning dirty clothes and packing them again. We are on our way to LSU for three days for the Livestock Show. Everyone did real well at the Dist. Show in Lafayette. Daniel won La. Bred Reserve Light Weight Champ. with his Yorkshire Gilt. I'll send you a picture Uncle Op but I was one of those people who did not get a digital camera for Christmas. Hint! Hint! Daniel will have off this week and off next week for Spring Break. He is happy about that. We are real proud of Daniel, his grades were great too, A's. Monique is still working for LA Tech and doing well with her grades too. A's and B's. We will see her for three days next week. She is coming in with one of her friends and her mother. they are from the same town in which Jenna comes from in China. they are going to cook for us some real Chinese food. Becky is excited about that. I think I will watch her eat it and let her enjoy it all. I'll stick to cajun stuff. the weather is yuk and the grass is going crazy. HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO JARED, JORDAN AND EUGENE IV!!! Happy Anniversay Nancy and Butch, I remember the wedding very well. I had a blast. Cynthia, call on Jesus and he will set your family free from these sicknesses. I have prayed that for you and your family in the name of Jesus. Uncle Roland, I have prayed for you also. He is in control. Eugene is doing well, after he has joined the surgery of the month club. I think he is done for now. It is so very hard for mne to beleive that a year has gone by since dad has gone. I know in my heart he is in a better place but you don't ever seem to let go. I miss him so very much. My dad was the greatest, and he knew how much he was loved by his family. He had a wonderful long life here on earth and is with our Father in heaven now. I will be sure to see them both in God's time. Enough now I can hardly see the keyboard. Aunt Gloria, enjoy that retirement. Let's see that garden on the computer. Well,I have to run for now. I have lots of things to do and will get back with everyone next week. Love and prayer for all. Keeping focused on JESUS. Martha Lousie

I just can't seem to keep my immediate family well! I've been with Melanie at the hospital since Friday morning - she's having terrible stomach pains - but the doctors have x-rayed, CAT scanned, done blood tests, even put an NG tube down her, but can't find the problem yet. They'll be doing a consult to another internist and her OBGYN tomorrow. Keep us in your prayers. Love to all.

Hi, Family: Preliminary tests indicate that the tumor in Charles' colon is not malignant and nothing else bad seems to be in the abdomen or pelvic area. It still has to be removed asap, and our doctor is more concerned about his heart and lungs handling the surgery. We're still going through tests and have not scheduled the surgery yet. Will let y'all know when the date is set. HAPPY 25TH ANNIVERSARY, BUTCH AND NANCY - WOW, A QUARTER OF A CENTURY ALREADY!!!! HOPE YOU HAVE MANY, MANY, MANY MORE. Love to all.
